To combat the hot weather we decided to get up at 5 am and try to get to our destination by lunch time. Walking through the predawn coolness was just lovely and we felt like the only people on earth for about 5 minutes until we ran into all the other pilgrims with the same idea!
Today’s walk was different from the preceding days as we were walking along a valley. We were beside the road a lot of the time but were surrounded by wooded areas for most of the walk. Very pleasant.
We saw a small church in one of the villages and peered inside as the door was open only to find the most exquisite chapel we have seen so far.
We made it to our hotel by 11:30 am and spent a few hours sitting on our private terrace gazing at the flyover behind the village followed by a fabulous 3 course pilgrims lunch for the princely sum of 10 euros each.
Must be siesta time. Adios.
